STRIVE
Employment Program

Using the nationally recognized STRIVE system, an intensive four-week training program, The Family School quickly prepares participants for employment success.

Training – The First Step

The STRIVE job readiness training stresses accountability, responsibility and personal growth. This four-week training takes place in a simulated work environment where individuals are given the opportunity to address personal obstacles to success. With the challenges and support of the trainers, participants become empowered, discovering their own strengths and gaining skills necessary for success in the world of work. STRIVE participants also learn basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer and learn to create a professional resume and cover letter.

Job Placement

After completing training, STRIVE graduates are assigned to a Job Developer who works one-on-one with graduates in their job search as they learn to market themselves to employers. Strong relationships with employers and lifetime access to services for all graduates are key components of STRIVE’s dedicated and effective approach to job development.

Graduate Services

STRIVE is the beginning of a long-term relationship. Graduates continue to grow professionally with the help of a comprehensive, 2-year, graduate services program. In order to insure job retention and to maximize opportunities for career advancement, graduates are offered assistance with career planning, continued education and specialized workshops.

Employers benefit from having well-trained employees who are enthusiastic about the job and committed to self-improvement.
